466 When Are You Naturally Productive?
This is Anne with your Coaching On The Go.
I’m walking in and out of banks of fog amidst the birds.
It’s early enough in the day that there isn’t a lot of traffic.
I’m not seeing people.
I’m on my own.
It’s beautiful.
When you are taking your downtime…
Are you in the middle of the day?
Are you watching TV?
Are you taking a nap?
Are you taking a walk?
Is it too busy where you are to unplug?
What can you do and where can you go to get the kind of deep downtime that would be effective?
I have a variety of things I do during the middle of the day.
Some are more effective than others.
Sometimes when I get up, early in the morning, I walk 6 miles.
Sometimes I go to the gym do a power weightlifting segment and stretch.
In the morning I get stabilized with an hour or two of exercise, then I have some food and a powerful two-hour block of work.
Sometimes after that block of work I’m pooped out and hit the couch for a little nap. (I am up at about 430 am)
Once I hit the couch and have that nap, I might turn on the TV and leave it on, dwindling away 2-3 hours.
If I take a nap without the TV, go back outside to pull some weeds, relax, or go out to lunch, I am more productive for the day.
Sometimes I don’t get back to to work until evening, especially during the summer, when the daylight and energy of the sun call me out.
In that case, I put my second and third blocks of work in the late afternoon and mid-evening.
Sometimes I even like to work from nine until eleven in the evening because the world is quiet and I’m fascinated by what’s going on outside during the day, the birds, the energy.
I want to be out there.
What times of day are most productive for you?
What times of day does your being compel you or call you to be doing something other than a typical workday schedule?
What I want you to be doing today is thinking about if you could have your schedule any way you wanted, which you can when you are an entrepreneur working for yourself, you have a lot of flexibility to create that, what times would you choose to throw all in to work?
What times would you pick to throw all in to other activities that open your mind and playfulness?
Keep the daily notes on your schedule this week.
Have a beautiful day.
