481 How To Time Block

Jul 11, 2024 | Uncategorized

This is Anne with your Coaching On The Go.

A couple of days ago I spoke with you about time blocking and its value, how it allows you to take the information you know about yourself, your schedule, how you work, and the things you want to get done and create an optimized situation for yourself to succeed.

Today I’m talking with you about how to set up a weekly framework.

You get to allocate specific blocks of time for your essential tasks and high-priority projects.

You also get to block out times for other non-negotiables that are part of your life.

Playtime
Downtime
Date night
Time with kids
Time with grandkids

Whatever it is.

When you look at the five-hour workday, using that as a template, where will you block in work?

Where will you block in at least an equal amount of downtime so you are productive and can get inspiration and hunches?

Secondly, I want you to reserve blocks for regular standing commitments, like meetings.

For example, on Fridays, I put the Coaching On The Go content together for the next week.

I take the audios I’ve created and generate transcripts, and put them into the format you get to enjoy.

I have that as a standing activity every Friday.

The third thing is to designate flexible blocks for spontaneous opportunities and intuitive activities, walks in nature, opportunities for appointments, and things…like that.

Today’s work is to take what you did yesterday when you assessed your work style and priorities and set up a block format for a week.

Take the time to do this quickly today.

Color code it if you wish. (for fun!)

If you do it on a computer you can take the time blocks and move them around really easily.

Spend some time on this today.

We will continue tomorrow.

Have a beautiful day.
