484 How To Utilize Tools And Apps
This is Anne with your Coaching On The Go talking to you today about the fourth tool I use and want you to consider when setting up a great calendar and that tool is for you to Utilize Tools And Apps.
A tool I use regularly is my calendar, my planner.
I don’t use a regular calendar anymore.
The calendar I use is paper, and I’ve talked with some of you about it before.
It’s called a Push Journal.
It helps me keep track of what I want to do in a day, my overarching goals and the three major things I will be doing that will contribute to my big goal.
It has a place to keep notes as I go along during the day.
It has another whole page for additional notes.
It helps me keep track of the water I’m drinking, the food I’m eating, the exercise I’m doing, the self-care I’m allowing myself to enjoy, and an entire morning to evening calendar.
I use that the night before.
When I go to bed, I look over what my next day is and reiterate it there.
On a Sunday night, I pull it out and look at my upcoming week.
I label out the week in a week-long calendar, then fill in each day.
I like to go through each day the night before.
I review the week on Sunday night and then go through each day the evening before, just before I do my final meditation and fall asleep.
I go over what the next day is going to look like so I’m not surprised or scared in the morning.
I use digital tools as well.
I have a digital calendar in both of my emails. one is a business email and one is personal.
I carefully utilize the digital tools connected to my calendar and set alarms for the beginning and end of my blocked work times.
I set alarms on my phone app regularly.
If I want to work, for example, for 30 minutes within my work block, on a particular task, I set the timer so I can focus without monitoring the time.
There are also task management apps that you can use like Trello.
I don’t currently use a task management system, but I know people who do.
I find my digital calendar and its tools, plus my paper calendar and my phone alarm super helpful.
As your business gets bigger, you may want a task management app that keeps track of your to-dos as you go along throughout the day.
I’ve outlined three different tools.
The paper planner with its day, week, and month calendars allows you to keep your days and thoughts in order.
The possibility of adding and implementing a task management app.
The use of a simple timer, manual or on your phone, to set quick alarms.
I prefer the one on my phone because I can just press down and say, “Set a timer for 35 minutes”, and I can get to work.
What tools do you use right now?
What tools can you add?
Where are your shortcomings?
What tool could support you in making that a stronger area for yourself?
Have a beautiful day.
