510 How To Streamline For Efficiency
This is Anne with your Coaching On The Go.
What’s the difference between multitasking on your business and personal expansion and multitasking on a daily basis?
It occurs to me that I’ve been talking to you about not multitasking.
Then at the same time, I’m asking you to do two different things at once when you are expanding.
That’s the irony of life, right?
There are certain instances where something works and other instances where it doesn’t.
You are expanding all the time, whether it’s in business or your personal life.
That is part of life.
Growth and change are part of an amazing life.
So in this area, I ask you to do both at one time and consider them the same thing.
Consider your growth in business and your personal life as growth.
That’s a case of something you could consider multitasking that I want you to group into one container.
When you are working and trying to answer emails, take phone calls, and you think about another thing you could be doing and do that, then come back, listen to music or a book on tape while you are concentrating on composing an email…I want you to knock that stuff off.
When you go into your work time, if you set it up so you have all of your distractions cut away, then it’s a special time.
When I was in college, I had to go into this little compartment in the library, so I could concentrate.
Otherwise, I was watching everybody at the library, hearing them and hearing whispers.
I was very distracted.
After decades, I know how to limit distractions so I get my work done.
What will it take for you to get pure about the environment you work and play in?
Drill into that this week.
As we wrap up our discussion on momentum, what are you willing to do so that your time is highly efficient and effective?
Remember, Warren Buffett has 2400 streams of income.
He looks like a pretty happy guy when he’s interviewed.
He doesn’t look stressed out.
He’s relaxed.
He’s operating in the same amount of time per day as you are.
How could you streamline, tidy up, and be a purist about your time, and value it and yourself so that you are hyper-efficient?
When you have downtime, you feel like you’re on vacation, and when you’re working, you are satisfied with your efficiency, it changes your whole perspective on a day.
I’ve gone from feeling like I’m working all the time to knowing that I’m not working all the time.
I have periods every day where I’m incredibly relaxed and where I’m digging into my work.
It’s extremely satisfying.
How can you create that for yourself today?
Have a beautiful day.
