Play is the conduit to take you back to your natural creative tendencies, the creativity and the creative process you came in with when you were born.

Adults spend too much time in the mind, setting up how things are going to work, trying to make sure that everything is perfect.

Play will open you to the magnificence of collaboration…that collaboration with the universe, with the quantum field, with God.

What can you do today that is in your proximity?

That would be a little ridiculous for you?

Perhaps there is something outside that you can build.

You can take some nails and scraps of wood and build something that you can burn in the fire.

Maybe you can go down to the beach, or maybe there is a sandbox at a playground and you can build a castle.

Perhaps at the beach you can dig a hole and make a drippy castle.

I don’t care what you do.

Unloading the dishwasher, for me, opens my mind to creative thinking.

Play opens it further.

I interviewed somebody recently who has a daily practice for people working with art materials.

Whether you’re an artist or not, when you were a child, you were playing every day.

Children all color.

There aren’t groups of children that don’t color.

I’ve never seen a child that doesn’t color.

Get a coloring book or get some crayons.

That will take you right back in time and do whatever you want on the paper.

And if you can’t remember what it was like, Google, “children coloring” or watch a child color and see how they immediately plug into their imagination.

The missing element for you, and me at times, is open, unbridled creativity and exploration.

In the upcoming weeks, I’m going to be offering mini workshops with creative projects to engage your free thinking and fun so you are including that daily in your creative process.

Creating is supposed to be fun.

If you’re not having fun making your business or leveling up, then you’re squeezing yourself too hard.

Creating is a balance between all the inner systems you have.

It’s a delicate balance, like two children on a teeter-totter

The two children are parts of you.

One part is absolutely unbridled, open and listening, and the other is taking the leads and the next step.

One is a Do-ing and one is a Be-ing.

When you can get just the right combination of doing and being, Wow, you take off!

Today’s work for you is to play for 20 minutes to 2 hours.

You pick and go play.

You could be skipping.

You could be galloping on the road.

You could be digging a hole, playing in the dirt, or coloring. 

 You could take food coloring and put it in a glass jar, put fresh daisies in there, and see what color your daisies turn.

Go play and have a beautiful day doing it.
