401 What Are You Aiming At?
This th your Coaching On The Go.
You’ve been working for quite a while on your Vision.
I do it all year round.
I have a vision.
I put it out there and then I’m playing with it.
I’m engaging with it on so many levels daily.
I like to think of the beginning of the year as a time to create a Vision or the end of the year, but it’s an ongoing process, so I’ve been spending quite a bit of time with you on it.
Once you have it, are you focusing on it?
Are you focusing on all the different ways that you won’t hit it or you might not hit it?
They show up looking like the normal culprits.
Doubt.
Overthinking.
Worry.
Procrastination.
Clutter.
Disorganization.
Feeling tired.
Someone needing you.
In each of our lives, they look certain ways, depending on how we’ve created our lives and the triggers we have.
But they all are Fear when you get down to it.
That sublevel, that foundational level…is Fear.
We have talked about this in some of the workshops.
It’s where a lot of the work happens in the coaching.
It deals with how you show up and the Roadmap or the path to your Vision.
If you’re not even pointing at it, because your mindset is all over the place, then it’s going to take you a lot longer to get to that Vision.
The other things that you might see are beliefs, stories, how you define yourself, the things that we spent a lot of time talking about that may seem on the surface trivial but aren’t because they skew your Vision.
They have you pointing your arrow at a different target, of indecision, of Fear.
It could look like this:
You have all these options for possibilities to learn and you flood your space with all those opportunities.
I’m saying this because a lot of you are telling me you feel overwhelmed.
You clutter up your space, and it makes you look studious.
You are taking all these classes, but which ones are pointing you toward your Vision?
Which ones are just contributing to clutter?
That clutter is serving you because it’s keeping you from making a mistake.
It’s keeping you in limbo where you don’t decide so you’re not having to face
the fear you have of failure.
You can take as long as you want to face your fears.
They’re gonna sit there and wait for you until you face them.
I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ve seen it in my artwork over time.
I got to learn this lesson through my art.
If I was nervous about making a mistake in an area, I would walk away in frustration to have some snacks, sometimes not returning for a few months, or even a year.
Guess what?
When I came back that peace was still waiting.
That very segment that I was worried about was still waiting for me to either proceed through, make a mistake on, adjust, learn from, or do perfectly.
Who knows, but it always waited for me.
That’s what your life does.
Today I have this graphic for you.
What are you focused on?
What are you aiming at?
Take an audit this week.
Think about this every day this week.
How much energy are you spending, not focusing on the target, but focusing and thinking about all the other things?
I’ll have some analogies for you every day.
Start taking notes, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
