442 Are You Enough Yet?
This is Anne with your Coaching On The Go.
The problem with getting ready to get ready to get ready is that you’re never ready.
You never are enough to get going.
You are always looking outside of yourself for what’s missing that would make you perfect and ready so that you’re flawless.
And in fact, if you go ahead and you just try something, you can quickly see what you need and what you’re missing.
If you’re waiting because you’re afraid you’re going to make a mistake and you keep looking outside of yourself, the problem is that you get steered in so many directions that you can be completely distracted.
The getting ready to get ready to get ready is something that keeps going until you get started doing the thing.
I want to tell you that you’re more ready to do THE THING than you realize.
When you get the idea, it is said that you are 99% done.
You are getting your ideas or got your idea for a reason…because it’s queued up.
Rely on me to help you talk through and figure out what the next steps are so you can keep moving.
I would love to have you run off the edge of the pier, dive in, and then get coaching on how to continue to slightly tweak the trajectory of what you did so it’s easier and better, easier and better.
Take the analogy of me taking the walk the other day down to the corner in anticipation that perhaps the road was closed.
I didn’t know if it was closed, but when I got down there, it was.
Then as I navigated onto that road, I didn’t know what it looked like down there.
I didn’t know if I would be able to continue on for a couple of blocks and walk or if I would be able to get through at all.
I was delighted and excited, not knowing what was coming, but knowing that it was different and that it wouldn’t be normal because something had changed up in front.
The gate was closed.
What I learned is when I do that, when I go through and the gate is closed, things are going to be different.
I’m going to get to perceive different things.
There are new possibilities open that aren’t typically open.
I’m going to see things differently and experience them differently.
There could be new things there.
If you go right in like I did, like I went on the walk, I didn’t check ahead of time.
If I just go right in, trusting that I know how to navigate on some level, then I can get in and see what’s there, what’s available.
Often a solution to your problem is inside of that thing you’re scared.
Just like when we do the internal work, inside your challenge is the roadmap to get through the challenge.
The learning is inside of the challenge.
If you avoid the challenge, you are not going to see the learning that’s possible.
The same thing is true for your business.
So jump in.
Go in.
You can see in there really good information, better information than you can get from the outside.
When I student taught, when I became a teacher, every day I was making my curriculum on the fly.
The previous teacher left nothing for me.
Every day I was thinking about how I wanted to get people started.
What would I want them to know?
I would design something.
I would design the curriculum for the day, and I would do it.
In between classes, I would write down what worked and didn’t, and what to tweak.
It’s like a language immersion when going into a new country.
That’s what I want for you.
Stop getting ready to get ready to get ready and go in.
Let’s go in hot.
I love you.
Have a good day.
